Before all of you folks that are so adamant that the Obama/Pelosi/Ried consortium health plan is the greatest thing since sliced bread let me give you two examples of government management of private enterprise.

First lets look at "Cash for Clunkers". The original monies allocated was to last for one month. The estimate of money needed was so bad that it actually lasted 4 days. Now each $4500 grant actually costs the government $6000. That is right $2500 in administrative fees. You say no problem! Mr. Obama just allocated more money. Just today there were two Dealers on the news explaining some of the problems they are having with the program. One dealer from St. Louis has over a million dollars outstanding from cars he has sold under the program and the Government has not reimbursed him for one cent. He has had to suspend sales as he can not afford to continue to operate with no revenue. The second dealer has submitted 98 applications for reimbursement. 96 have been returned by the government marked "denied". Many dealers are dropping out of the program because the government is simply just not paying.

Second example: In the state Nevada prostitution is legal. The most profitable brothel in the state was the Mustang Ranch. However, the Mustang Ranch got into a little trouble with IRS and could not come to a reasonable agreement with them. Therefore, the government took over the management of the Mustang Ranch. Yest that is correct the United States Government was in the business of running a brothel. Now remember, and this is factual, that the Mustang Ranch was the most profitable brothel in Nevada. In less than 12 months after the government took over the Mustang Ranch was forced to declare bankruptcy.

Mr. Obama himself continues to talk about how that medicare is so corrupt, full of fraud and mismanaged. This is another example of government management. I suggest that before we allow them to have the whole enchalada we should require them to fix what they already administer.

Now I ask you, if the government can not even manage a who– house, why would you want them in the health care business.

Video Nasties Put Heat On NY Cops

NEW YORK (AFP) – A New York man is clubbed in the street. Another rammed off his bike. Another beaten. Luckily, it’s all on film. Unluckily, police are the ones seen doing the beating.

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) encourages witnesses to shoot footage of crimes — but officers were less happy last week when the camera turned on some of their own.

In the first of three incidents, a hulking cop body-checked and sent flying a cyclist at a pro-bicycle rally known as Critical Mass.

In the second a policeman bludgeoned a man on the ground, held down by another of New York’s finest, the thwacks almost as loud as the man’s cries.

Passersby filmed and published both incidents, the Times Square bicycle body check alone getting 1.2 million YouTube hits.

Finally, a 28-year-old man named Walter Harvin claimed to have taken a bloody beating from police while handcuffed in the entrance to an apartment building.

This time, the action took place in view of a security camera and the film is now with police investigators, the Daily News reported.

Local media gave the furor saturation coverage, reflecting passions around the NYPD, an almost legendary body in a city famous for a violent past and complex patchwork of ethnic neighborhoods.

The NYPD insists it backs the work of video snoops.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly last week announced New Yorkers will soon be able to send video and text directly to the traditional emergency 911 telephone number.

There will always be bad eggs, but by and large police brutality is much less today that it used to be.

Consider only 40 years back, many police here in America would beat up black people for fun, many times even accidentally killing them while they did it. They NEVER got in trouble for it, in fact the departments they worked for probably encouraged it.

Go even further back, to Ancient Rome, the police there carried spears and would impale you if you even looked at them funny. No one would bat an eye.

It’s true police brutality still exists today, there will always be bad eggs, but in all these cases where the police brutality happens these days, the officer always gets fired or punished.

It used to be encouraged.

So, I would say we have come quite a ways.

In fact today, many cases of police brutality are mistaken. Today officers have to be very careful with what they do. If an officer is being attacked, and he fights back, the media will always edit out the part where the officer is being attacked, and make it look like the officer is the aggressor.

Why? Because police brutality stories sell like hot cakes.

Mercado de divisas

El DOLAR continuó esta mañana con resultados mixtos, retrocedió y perdió cierto terreno ganado; sin embargo, marcó nuevos máximos contra ciertos pares, para luego retroceder cuando los volúmenes operados eran bajos.  Ciertos Estados soberanos compraron DOLARES. El mercado de valores comenzó débil en Asia, lo que benefició al DOLAR. Niveles técnicos de soporte parecen mantenerse en casi todos los pares, solo el par USD/JPY cayó en nuevos mínimos. El par USD/JPY registró mínimos en la zona de los 92.62 y varios operadores tomaron ganancias, es por ello que el par luego retomó el nivel de los 93.00. La LIBRA registró mínimos en la zona de los 1.4774, y stops se colocaron en los 1.4850, pero luego el par rondó los 1.4900.  El nivel técnico de soporte en los 1.4750 parece ser clave, y mientras se mantenga, el par al parecer encontrará su tope. El EURO registró mínimos en la zona de los 1.2562, para luego recuperarse y alcanzar los 1.2650 en New York. La venta de LIBRAS y EUROS, sobre todo por agentes económicos rusos, repercutieron en el mercado. El par USD/CAD no logró ampliar sus ganancias por la noche, dejando los máximos de la semana estables; máximos en los 1.2491 no lograron encontrar stops y al parecer el par se encuentra en los 1.2490/1.2500. El par USD/CHF también estuvo bajo presión pero se mantuvo estable en los 1.2073 al comienzo de la sesión en New York; también los máximos en la zona de los 1.2099 no lograron encontrar stops, por lo que descansan los valores sobre el nivel del mercado. Dicho par registró mínimos en los 1.2022, y se encuentra sobre el nivel de soporte técnico, por lo que se espera más de doble acción. A mi entender, operadores podrían comprar las principales divisas cuando estén en baja. Pronto el DOLAR se encontrará bajo gran presión, los datos a publicarse no lo favorecerán. Se estima que durante el día de hoy el DOLAR caerá.

Forex Analisis
El par comenzó en baja en Asia por la noche, pero revirtió su tendencia en Europa. Se estima que habrá un recorte de las tasas de interés en 100 puntos básicos. Se observaron ofertas de Estados soberanos. El nivel de soporte falló en la zona de los 1.5050. Se observó un comercio en doble acción sólido. Se mantuvo el control de las ventas sobre los 1.5100, pero será prudente aguardar un poco. Si el par sigue fortaleciéndose varios operadores tomarán ganancias. Por la noche se observó un comercio técnico mientras los operadores definen estrategias a seguir.  Seguramente el BCI reducirá las tasas de interés, pero dicho factor ya está asimilado. La liquidez fue moderada.

Puede que el par padezca una reversión, pero el par debería estar firme en los 1.2850 a mi entender.  Se están colocando ofertas en los 1.2600 como se estimaba. Es aconsejable ir en largo. Se están colocando stops sobre los 1.2750, lo que impulsará un comercio en doble sentido. No considero que el par siga en baja. Varios operadores están tomando ganancias a pesar de la incertidumbre imperante.
