Is It True You Can Get Government Money As A Contractor For Fixing Homes In Disrepair?
My sister owns a construction business out of Indianapolis, IN and she and her husband heard a news story last night in passing that said the Government is paying out grants (maybe the wrong word) for people or businesses who go out and fix-up unsightly homes that are in disrepair.
We can’t seem to find the information anywhere on the web though now. Does anyone know what it was she may have seen or can you direct us to the proper channels to find out?
The government’s websites are so hard to navigate anymore due to the wealth of information that generally doesn’t pertain to what you’re actually seeking to find.
Thanks in advance, Y! Answer Webizens!
grants.gov has all of the currently listed government grants that are available.
Yes, it is true that you can get grants to repair houses. Watch how much you bite off though because these grants only cover so much. Now if this is your first home, you can also get a grant to cover part of the down payment – you will need to check with FHA to do that.
